Knowing which foods contain gluten is a very necessary tool to have for those with this sensitivity. For this reason, I have compiled a more in depth list of these for your review. These include: wheat rye spelt barley tritcale Kamut oatsThis of course includes any products that are made with these flours, such as: pasta noodles breads crackers pie crusts cakes cookies pita bread wraps croutons bagels donuts beignets king cake matzo oatmealmostly due to cross contamination Bran muffins brownies cupcakes pancakes waffles cheesecake turnovers french crueller bread pudding tarts quiche croissants wedding cakes pizza scones biscuits dumplings rolls bars hamburger buns hot dog buns eclairs cream puffs hamantash cinnamon rolls rugelach pastries danish kichel kinish flan crepes brioche bread crumbs So as you see there are many products made with these grains. The wonderful thing though is that there are now GF versions of virtually all of these. So let's celebrate! If you are unsure about any of these products then check the label to see if it says GF. If not, then you can be pretty confident that it does.
Processed Products
There are many products that come with trace amounts of these proteins.Instead of providing a list of every single product that contains gluten. I am going to list the foods that potentially have these proteins and leave it up to you to check each processed product individually. One reason for this is because a company can change their ingredients at any time. Which could potentially change a GF product into one that contains it. As a result, it is best to stay on top of this yourself. The processed products to be on the lookout for frequently include: ketchup gravies sauces sausages soups baked beans canned meats barley malt chips beer pickles flavorings baking powder emulsifiers salad dressings french fries and virtually all packaged productsOnce again relax, there are GF versions of all of these products. So do not be concerned you are going to learn that there are many delicious GF options. As always read labels and look for products that are labeled as GF. This is the only way to be certain that you are eating a GF product.
