Sourdough and French Breads

There are a few companies making gluten-free French bread or mixes. These companies include:

  • The Grainless Baker contains brown rice. So if you are sensitive to it you should avoid this bread.

    Gluten-free Cornbread

    Looking for excellent gluten-free cornbread? Here are several quality mixes.

  • The Cravings Place - Mix

    Pamela's, The Cravings Place, and Mixes from the Heartland have brown rice flour in their mixes.

    Cornbread Recipe

    A wonderful and simple cornbread, that has been modified from a Whole Foods Market recipe.

    Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup corn meal
  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose GF flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Instructions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Apply olive oil spray on a 9-inch baking tray. In a large bowl add corn meal, all purpose gluten-free flour, salt, turbinado sugar and baking soda, mix well together. Add egg, milk and melted butter. Mix these ingredients well. Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Serves 4-6.

    This is great comfort food that you will can enjoy at an occasion.
